At the FSPA, it’s never too late! Private lessons and a variety of classes give the adult learner all the fun, excitement and fulfillment that comes with playing an instrument, singing or dancing!
PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are a great way for you to learn to play a new instrument or hone existing skills. You’ll find lessons available on nearly every instrument and in voice, music theory and accompaniment. As part of an ensemble, you will meet weekly from mid-September through April. A wide variety of opportunities exist including:
Jazz Combos Where can you play combo arrangements of famous jazz tunes by Miles Davis and Horace Silver, transcribed directly from their original albums? With the FSPA’s Jazz Combo! The Jazz Combo offers a great way for anyone aged 14 to adult to play jazz and learn more about the art of improvisation. Jeff Price, FSPA saxophone instructor and jazz muscian will lead weekly sessions.
New Horizons Band Did you play in high school, but haven’t picked up your instrument much since then or have never played an instrument and would like to discover the fun of making music? Then this is the place for you! You’ll have the advantage of small group sectional rehearsals, as well as band rehearsals. You do not have to audition to join.
