The Emmy Award winning Holiday Pops! |
|
Congratulations to all! “The Flint Journal and ABC12 Present the Holiday Pops featuring the Flint Symphony Orchestra” won an Emmy Award® for the 2010 “Holiday Pops” broadcast at the Michigan Emmy Awards ceremony Saturday, May 14 in Detroit. “Holiday Pops” Co-Anchor Bill Harris, Associate Producer/Audio Tech Bill Samples and Producer Christopher Harris accepted the award.
This is the first Emmy® win for “The Holiday Pops” in its 10 year history. We would like to thank all the talented people who worked tirelessly onstage, backstage and behind the cameras to make this Emmy® winning production possible: The crew at the Whiting; The Flint Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Enrique Diemecke; Tom Glasscock, manager Flint Symphony Orchestra; Flint Festival Chorus under the direction of Bradley Bloom; Flint Festival Youth Chorus and Flint Jubilee Chorale under the direction of Sylvia Pittman; Guest Soloists, Sylvia Pittman and Joseé Dominique Muldrew; singers from Brandon High School, Carmen-Ainsworth High School, Clio High School, Davison High School, Durand High School, Flint Classical Academy, Grand Blanc High School, Mt. Morris High School, New Lothrop High School and Powers High School; Co-Anchor Angie Hendershot and all the technical, audio and visual support provided by ABC12.
We are thrilled with this honor and could not resist tooting our own horns. We look forward to another great Flint Symphony Orchestra season and, perhaps, another Emmy® nod for “The Holiday Pops 2011!” Remember to get your tickets early, last year’s Emmy® winning performances were sell outs!
