MITP - Motown Greats
The Music in the Parks 2009 series closes with a hand-clapping, foot pounding experience when the Flint Symphony Orchestra is joined by Motown Greats, The Contours, featuring Sylvester Potts. The concert is part of the 5th Annual Back to the Bricks Celebrationin downtown Flint.
The Music in the Parks 2009 series continues with A Gospel Celebration featuring guest artist Pastor Seon Thompson, the Flint Jubilee Chorale and the Flint Jubilee Gospel Singers.
Max Brandon Park (also known as Forest Park) - From I-475, take Davison Rd./Hamilton Ave. exit 8B. Go west on Broadway (turns into Hamilton). Right (north) on N. Saginaw 0.7 mile. Left (west) on Pasadena 1 mile. Park entrance is on Pasadena, just before Dupont.

MITP-American Originals
The Music in the Parks 2009 series opens with the Flint Symphony Orchestra with vocal soloists (l - r) Pia Broden-Williams, Sylvia Pittman and Glen Holcomb singing your favorite hits.
Crossroads will open at 5pm for MITP guests. The General Store will stay open until 6:30pm. Popcorn, beverages and carousel rides will also be available!

Performances are free. Admission to Crossroads Village will be free after 5:00 pm the day of the concert.

If you are coming from the I-475 exit 13, go north on Saginaw Road to Mt. Morris Road. Turn right (east) onto Mt Morris Road. Follow Mt. Morris Road to Bray Road. Turn right (south) onto Bray Road. Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad will be approximately 1 1/4 miles on your left-hand side (east) at 6140 Bray Road, Flint. FREE PARKING! You can also visit their website.
Pia Broden Williams, Soprano: B.A. (vocal performance and philosophy), University of Michigan. Taught general music to grade levels K-12 in Flint and Mt. Morris. Served as musician and choir director for various churches. She is a seasoned vocalist and has acquired extensive recording and performance experience with several organizations, including various jazz groups and currently with the Michigan Opera Theatre (chorus member) and Flint Jubilee Chorale. She has appeared at the Detroit Jazz Festival and other venues across the Midwest. A rare voice that can execute proficiently classical, jazz, gospel and pop styles.

Glen Holcomb,Was and educated in Detroit, MI, he has been living in Flint for the past six years.He received the Bachelor of Music Degree in vocal performance from Marygrove College in Detroit, MI and the Master of Music Degree in vocal performance from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green , Ohio.He has been awarded many 1st place awards on the state and regional levels.Glen is a former “Young Artist Apprentice” with the Michigan Opera Theatre.He has appeared as soloist with Flint Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, Southfield Symphony Orchestra and others.Also he was principal tenor soloist with the Brazeal Dennard Chorale in Detroit, MI and performs with the Flint Jubilee Chorale locally.
Sylvia Pittman, Soprano: holds a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Northern Michigan University; Marquette, MI and a Masters degree in vocal Performance from the University of Michigan; Ann Arbor, MI. Ms. Pittman currently serves the Flint School of Performing Arts as Chair of the Voice Department. Sylvia is greatly sought after as a soloist and is skilled in a wide variety of vocal styles from Opera to Gospel. She coaches recording artists and is herself a talented studio musician. Sylvia Pittman is a gifted composer, playwright, choral director, and music educator.
