Gershwin, Cuban Overture
Ginastera, Harp Concerto op. 25
Rimsky-Korsakov, Scheherazade, op. 35

Enrique Diemecke, conductor • Ann Hobson Pilot, harp

Aloft on exotic rhythms interconnecting with pulsing beats, we descend into the realm of musical patterns and swaying tempos. Music with an infectious essence takes hold of our senses and pushes our hypnotized bodies into dance. This evening we travel with the FSO to experience the music of Cuba with American composer George Gershwin. Then a world-renowned harpist performs the music of Argentinian-born composer Alberto Ginastera. Last stop for the evening is a Russian composer’s rendition of the sensuous and exciting Middle Eastern and south Asian tales from the Arabian Nights.
